HAIL DA CHAMPIONS ... At the early of the season, most of the outcome not as what ppl expected to see. They do expecting big-spending club such as Manyoo, Real Galacticos, Bayern etc do the honour in their country and europe to get the titles, but they juz didnt. We can see this year, smaller clubs such as Valencia(not so small either), Porto, Monaco, Marseille did get into the europe finals, and they didnt have to spend as many as others big clubs to get the job done. AND that was just amazing...
p/s: You can find the teams that i am supporting with CAPITAL LETTER, just might be some of the teams not giving me much fanatical influences than my all-time faveret, ARSENAL..

ANOTHER GOAL FOR GUNNERS ..
|
|
A season of unrivalled achievement
Once renowned for appearing in referees’ notebooks, Arsenal players are now filling the record books instead.
Arsène Wenger’s side avoided defeat in their 38 league matches last season, each one in the latter months seemingly bringing them a new best achievement for the Premiership or league football in general.
Arsenal became the third team to remain unbeaten throughout a league campaign in England and the second in the top flight. The other two were Preston North End in the old first division in 1888-89 (only 22 games) and Liverpool in the old second division in 1893-94 (28 matches).
Arsenal broke the record of 29 unbeaten games at the start of a league campaign in any division, previously held jointly by Leeds United (1973-74) and Liverpool (1987-88), both in the old first division. They also beat their own longest undefeated Premiership run of 30 games, which they had set between December 2001 and October 2002.
Their latest sequence straddled the close season of 2003.
They outlasted the longest unbeaten league run within a season in any division, that of 30 games by Burnley in the old first division from September 1920 to March 1921. The next record — and the ultimate one — for Arsenal to beat is Nottingham Forest’s longest unbeaten league run in any division, one of 42 games in the old first division from November 1977 to December 1978. They are two short of that mark.
Arsenal’s excellence this season is best illustrated by the belief that on just one occasion have they been thoroughly outplayed in the Premiership: in the 1-1 draw away to Bolton Wanderers in December. This mastery of their destiny is reflected by them trailing only once after the 50th minute of a league match. That was when they were behind up to the 69th minute in the 2-1 victory at home to Tottenham Hotspur, their North London rivals.
The away record of Arsenal is particularly extraordinary. In 2001-02 they became the first team since Preston in 1888-89 to remain unbeaten away from home in the top flight, yet they have done it again just two seasons later. Furthermore, they have equalled their own record of 23 Premiership away games undefeated, which they set between August 2001 to September 2002.
Arsenal would have added a cup record to their cascade of league bests had they not lost to Manchester United in an FA Cup semi-final, when they stood one match away from becoming the first team to reach four successive FA Cup Finals. And while anyone who has seen Wenger’s side knows they have not achieved all these feats by being boring, scoring in 55 successive league games up to December 2002 will always bear testimony to that.

Some facts in football ..
|
|
Jeepers keepers
Just five Premiership clubs chose an Englishman as their most regular goalkeeper this season — and they filled the bottom five places: Wolverhampton Wanderers (Michael Oakes), Leeds United (Paul Robinson), Leicester City (Ian Walker), Everton (Nigel Martyn) and Manchester City (David Seaman). David James, the England goalkeeper, also resided in the bottom five after joining Manchester City from West Ham United in January.
United's descent
Manchester United recorded their joint worst ratio of points per league games since 1992, the year when the Premiership and their domination of English football began. But, including European and FA Cup results (though not the disregarded League Cup), and assuming three points for a win in these, United managed their sixth-best campaign in those 12 years.
Age of the flat back four
All 109 Premiership games between the dismissal of Glenn Hoddle as Tottenham Hotspur manager on September 21 and Portsmouth’s defeat by Southampton on December 22 featured a flat back four on both sides.
Hoddle was a 3-5-2 disciple and Harry Redknapp experimented briefly with that formation at Portsmouth.
Easy as A-B-C
The last team alphabetically in each of the four divisions — Wolverhampton Wanderers, Wimbledon, Wycombe Wanderers and York City — all finished bottom. The first and last teams alphabetically of the 92 League clubs, Arsenal and York, finished first and last of the 92.
Eight stand proud
Leeds United’s relegation reduces to eight the number of Premiership ever-presents since its inception in 1992: Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Southampton.
Sliding down the scale
In 1990 Everton and Tottenham Hotspur were still considered to be part of English football’s big five (along with Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United) but neither has finished in the top five of the league since. Tottenham have not finished in either the top six or bottom six since 1989-90.
Turkish delight
England’s goalless draw away to Turkey meant that they have not lost the last game of a qualifying campaign for a leading finals since 1964, a total of 17 unbeaten matches.
In their ten meetings England lead Turkey on a goal count by 31-0, which is also the record international score by which Australia beat American Samoa.
England have lost just one of their past 19 away qualifying matches for the World Cup and European Championship.
At least one of Michael Owen and David Beckham has scored in 16 of Sven-Göran Eriksson’s 19 competitive matches in charge of England.
Joy of six
The North West had more top-flight clubs than London for the first time since 1982-83. There were six in the North West: Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Everton, Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers; and five in London: Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Fulham and Charlton Athletic.
Goals achieved
Ruud van Nistelrooy’s late penalty miss at Old Trafford in September resulted in Manchester United’s second goalless draw in their past 172 domestic matches and Arsenal’s first in 103 domestic games. The day before, Newcastle United, facing Bolton Wanderers, had their first 0-0 in 64 domestic matches.
Seeing double
What was strange about the following Arsenal scorelines: Leeds United 1, Arsenal 4; Arsenal 4, Middlesbrough 1; Arsenal 2, Chelsea 1? Answer: they all occurred in both the Premiership and FA Cup this season.
Hoop and glory
Celtic were unbeaten in 77 home matches in all competitions before losing a league game to Aberdeen at Celtic Park on April 21.
Only three of the past 93 Old Firm games has ended goalless. Celtic and Rangers have met in a domestic cup in 39 of the past 49 seasons.
Foreign Legion
For the first 25 minutes of the second half of the Carling Cup match against Notts County in October, the Chelsea side included 11 nationalities. They were Ambrosio (Italian), Johnson (English), Melchiot (Dutch), Huth (German), Babayaro (Nigerian), Gronkjaer (Danish), Gérémi (Cameroonian), Verón (Argentine), Duff (Irish), Gudjohnsen (Icelandic) and Stanic (Croat). In the previous season Fulham started with players from 11 countries at home to Bury in the same competition.
Men of letters
Manchester United v Millwall was only the third FA Cup Final since 1881 to feature teams with the same initials. The others were Blackpool v Bolton Wanderers in 1953 and Liverpool v Leeds United in 1965.
Murphy's law
For the third time in four seasons, Liverpool won 1-0 away to Manchester United in the Premiership with a goal by Danny Murphy. Murphy became the first player to convert a Premiership penalty at Old Trafford since Ruel Fox did so for Norwich City in late 1993. Three penalties were awarded against United in the league at the ground in between times, and all were missed.
Sore points
Liverpool finished fourth in the Premiership, yet were closer in points to the bottom of the table than the top.
Happy Hull
Fulham’s average Premiership attendance was 500 lower than that of Hull City in the third division.
Fat zero
Wolves became only the second Premiership team in 11 years to fail to win away all season. The other was Coventry City in 1999-2000.

Arsenal finish top of Premiership Fair Play League
Arsenal's players and supporters have finished top of their respective Fair Play Leagues.
Arsène Wenger's champions, who completed an unbeaten Premiership season last weekend, took top spot ahead of London rivals Chelsea, Charlton and Fulham.
Each top-flight team is awarded points for criteria including red and yellow cards, positive play and respect towards referees and opponents.
The supporters are also awarded marks for their behaviour during the season, and Arsenal's fans have done their club proud by topping the table.
Wenger paid tribute to his squad and the fans after their latest achievements. "I'm delighted that we have finished top of the fair play table this season," he said
"It shows that we have not only won matches but won them in a fair and positive way.
"After the incident at Old Trafford, I said that we didn't act in the correct way and we made a conscious effort to address our behaviour.
"I'm very proud of the players and they really deserve credit, not only for the way we have played this season but for the discipline they have shown.
"It's also fantastic that our supporters have finished top of the Fair Play League as well. Throughout the season, they have been absolutely superb, both at Highbury and away from home.
"The Arsenal supporters really have been our 12th man this season and their contribution cannot be underestimated."
Prize money of £30,000 is awarded to the club finishing the season at the top of the Fair Play League, with £20,000 going to the club whose supporters are deemed to be the best behaved.

Special trophy for Arsenal's unbeaten run
|
|
The Premier League have commissioned a one-off trophy to mark Arsenal's achievement of going through the entire league season unbeaten.
The trophy will be a replica of the Premier League trophy presented to the Gunners on Saturday, but reversed in composition with gold replacing silver and vice-versa.
Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore said: "This award has been under consideration for some time, though the board of the Premier League felt it was inappropriate to come to a decision as to how to honour this achievement before Saturday's game, as it would have prejudged the outcome of a match."
"Arsenal's remarkable achievement has crowned what has been another season of top-class football with some of the game's finest players displaying the blend of skill, passion and commitment that makes the Premier League the most watched domestic league competition in the world."
